Exchange connections
Connect an exchange account in Settings › Connections with a trade-only API key. Algonney needs it only for live trading: paper trading and backtests work without any exchange key.
How to connect
- Turn on two-factor authentication first (see Account & security). Connecting, replacing and removing a key asks for your 2FA code.
- Create an API key on the exchange that can read and trade, never withdraw or transfer. The guide for each exchange is below and on the connect form.
- Restrict the key to the IP address the connect form shows.
- Paste the key in Settings › Connections. Algonney checks it with the exchange before it is used.
A saved key is never shown again, only its last characters.
Rules every key must pass
- A key with any withdrawal, transfer or wallet permission is rejected. This is one of the safety rules that never change.
- For live trading you confirm that the account is used by your bots only: bots assume nothing else trades on it. A dedicated sub-account works well, and it needs the same confirmation.
- Algonney never touches orders or positions it did not place. They are shown as not managed, so the picture of your account stays complete.
Settings per exchange account
Leverage, margin mode and position mode are set per exchange account and shared by all bots on it. A symbol with an open position keeps its setting until it is flat.

Exchange keys
- Connect guidesBinance: Create the key in Binance › API Management. System-generated key (HMAC): paste the API key and its Secret Key. Self-generated key (Ed25519): register its public key there, then paste the API key and the private key (PEM text starting -----BEGIN PRIVATE KEY-----). Turn on Enable Reading and Enable Spot & Margin Trading (and Enable Futures for perpetuals), never withdrawals or transfers. Restrict the key to this server's IP shown here. Use a key of the live exchange: demo and testnet keys do not work here.
